Introduction to Google Posts

Google Posts have been available to political candidates since January 2016. In March 2016 some business were given the On Thursday 22 June 2017 Google allowed all Google My Business users access to Google Posts.


Google Posts can be used for:
​​​​​​​

  • Sharing special or current promotions that encourage new and existing customers to take advantage of your offers.

  • Promoting events and tell customers about upcoming happenings at your location.

  • Showcasing your top products and highlighting new products.

The increase in land grab that you can achieve by using this is massive and is free advertising on Google which is not to be sniffed at!

Creating a Google Post

Requirements:  A Google My Business Account.  If you don't have one you can sign up for one here:  Google My Business

Create a Google Post

Click on Posts and then on the blue icon to create a new post.

Add your advertisement or copy – the first 80-100 characters are the most important as they will be shown on the Google Post preview.
​​​​​​​Add an eye-catching photo which must be at least 312 x 312 pixels.

You can link to your website and try experimenting with the Reserve, Sign up, Buy and Get Offer options to see which drives the most traffic to your site!


When you’re finished press PREVIEW and then PUBLISH and it will be live on Google instantly.
